Lately, one of the valuable lessons life has taught me is the art of doing nothing. Enjoying the present. Rewarding yourself with silence. And most importantly, taking care of yourself.
From that moment on, I included into my weekly routine a pamper/spa night at home. The goal is to be free from reality and spend a couple hours in complete relaxation. I realised, that this is not at all difficult to do, if you have the right mood, equipment, and activities. In this entry, I’ll be sharing my three best pamper session secrets, so you can also have relaxing spa nights at home.
- Set The Mood
The first step, is to set the mood. Identify how to relax each of your senses (sight, taste, touch, smell, and hearing). Here’s my personal list:
- Air diffuser, scented candle (or both!) with my favorite Vanilla or Cinnamon scents
- Relaxing/Acousting spotify playlist; there are tons out there, specifically for spa nights
- Wear either a bath robe or your best pair of pajamas (whichever makes you feel most comfortable and luxurious)
- Prepare Your Pampering Tools
Next is to prepare all the pampering ‘equipment’ (for me, most of which are my day to day skincare items). We all have busy everyday lives, so don’t feel bad when you skip a step or two in your skin/body care routine, but dedicating a spa night allows me to make sure I actually complete this routine once a week!
- Facial toner
- Volcanic face mask (to reduce pores)
- Korean face mask
- Night concentrate
- Body and hand lotion
- Lip Cream
- Heating Eye Mask
- Plan Light Activities
Finally, prepare light and chill activities for the night. Since I’m usually alone, I like to prepare a cup of tea, some biscuits and an interesting book to read.
You don’t need massage parlors, nail spas, bath tubs, hair salons to pamper yourself, when you can do it at home, every week. There’s no right or wrong way to have your DIY Spa night at home, as long as are able to achieve peace, calmness, self-care, and relaxation.
